Twilight had expected many things to change when she became High Princess of Equestria. What she did not expect however were:

Her body began to change and shift into more of her human form while also retaining much of her pony look.

A growing call from ponies to take on a title more befitting her status and accomplishments.
Twilight wasn’t sure what to make of these new changes in particular, but a growing part of her was telling her:
Empress Twilight Sparkle did have a nice ring to it.
