I was experimenting with turning Pixel art I’ve made into large images using Stable Diffusion when I had the thought of trying to turn the walk cycle of one of my OCs on Pony Town into a animation popped into my head.
The initial few attempts I did (cause with AI screeeeew doing one attempt and calling that that, I think I had generated 500 pictures by the end of it with my 3080 begging for the sweet relief of death) was rough, Nausica still looking kinda blocky, clothes changing constantly, facial expressions changing constantly as well. The prompt I used ended up being a good 2000 word essay and it got… mostly all right. I interlopated it using RIFE to smooth it out and it turned out… alright for some crappy AI gif. Staring at it too long can still cause seizures but… I think it’s decent?
There are probably ways of doing something like this with much better quality, some kind of… temporal method, but it beats me. This’ll be the only one I make of these, the effort was not worth it, would have been faster straight up to just animate it by hand I reckon, even if I’m not the best artist in reality… Honestly, thinking about it, a light sketch and outline of it with some vague colouring in could have looked a bit better.
