Futile thing to do if you ask me, because of the existence of finetuning and LoRAs.
The other thing is the anti-AI crowd tends to blame AI in general for drawing attention away from artists, not just style emulators.
It was a thing we all agreed on in the server when the model just came out a year ago but, the more I used it, the more the default style grew old and outdated. These days they aren’t as strict.
It’s no surprise that using the hidden tags actually made everything more coherent and higher quality in general. The Greg Rutkowski effect is still in play.

The base Pony Diffusion XL model had all of the artist tags in the training data replaced with random combinations of letters. It probably has something to do with the makers of the model not wanting people to use it to imitate certain artists styles, but (I assume) just removing the tags outright impacted the model negatively.
