This is the dilemma isn’t it? Artists don’t want the competition (one they would easily beat) and thus leave the industry to allow AI to fill in the gap. I think if AI convinced them to quit, they had already lost the passion and allowed annoying people to push them away.

The artists are the ones choosing to not do complex art. We have had complex art for thousands of years and I have been in this Fandom a long time (10 years). Complex art was never as appreciated as the lewd art. It never had a real spot in the Fandom. This site has always been one for the lewd rather than the true masterpieces. You could get a complex masterpiece have 300 up votes and some simple lewd get 800 easily. I even have a collection dedicated to epic images and it is neglected at this point.

I would commission but I lack the money. I am practicing real art but in the meantime, I just like to share some images I thought were cool.

I don’t hate ai generated art, but I’d love it if we got more traditional work, this site is getting overly-crowded with ai generated art, and it’s getting to a point where I’m spending more time looking for ai generated imperfections than actually appreciating the work. Thats not all either, it saddens me that I don’t see actual mlp art this complex anymore outside of ai, it’s as if ai itself scared away all the hard-working artists and to be frank I can understand why, how do you think all this work is generated? If you guessed by feeding art examples of actual artists work into the code in an effort to generate something new Youd be absolutely correct. I feel like ai art is scaring away talented artists because everybody is just assuming it’ll all end up becoming a generated sample for the next batch of ai art to be generated out there.
