It was one of Canterlot’s many soirees. I’m usually terribly bored at such events, and this time I wasn’t the only one who was bored at it. To many, she wasn’t a particularly famous pony, and I hadn’t seen her in the newspapers either. To admit, I don’t even really know why she was invited, but I am immensely glad about it, because if she hadn’t been there, I might never have acquired one of my best friends, with whom I often exchange letters even now
